Day 7: What's wrong with this picture?

... aside from the bikes being FILTHY from yesterday's dose of weather, the pavement's DRY!! It's 0845h and 8 degrees. We're headed for Jellystone, er... Yellowstone Park where there is 60% POP but hey! we scoff at rain now ;-)

I always forget things I want to say as I sit in front of the wee 'puter reflecting on the day. Yesterday, I intended to add a postscript about the HD riders - God bless their pointy little heads. They were the only other riders we saw out in that mess yesterday! Albeit, they were all on "dressers" (equipped like your living room and with full fairings). The most intrepid rider I've seen on this trip is Jim. I'd be second ;-) Bruce - Jim told me I'd have to retract my HD comments. I said "no retractions!" But I can add to them ... I honestly DID intend to make this observation last night :-)

Dave - regarding siphoning gas, I've learned from the best - I've watched enough Trailer Park Boys. Ricky has it down to a fine art. I should be able to distinguish between different octanes. Jim uses high; I need regular or 87 octane. Although in this neck of the woods, 87 octane is the second grade up and is usually called Plus. Gas, btw, is getting cheaper as we move west. Mostly, it's been in the 60+ cents range - doing a rough conversion of price per gallon divided by 4. I saw it yesterday in Rapid City for $2.47. On the highway, we're paying in the vicinity of $2.59 - $2.69.

All for now - I'm getting the "c'mon, time to go". Jim gets frisky in the sun.

When you first told me you were writing a blog I had a hard time believing it but I have to hand it to you - this is some great reading. I can't wait every day to check it out and see where you are and what's happening. Need more pics though :-D

Take care - careful of those scary mountains.

Love,
Caare

Thanks Little Care! I've been getting a lot of positive feedback and now that the pressure's on, I have writer's block!
